Colors Interaction
Colors in a normal understanding are important to give everything on this planet a distinct characteristic. But what to do when colors sometimes create an illusion in front of us my not changing itself but the surroundings and environment makes them look different.
We all had experienced this illusion once in our life, If not yet then look around in nature. A fresh leaf kept in the sunlight would look more yellowish-green than looking at the same leaf without the sunlight which will make the same fresh green leaf look darker in shade. It just a play of light that makes them look different kept in varied situations. This distinction in the colour is the value or brightness in the color theory. this phenomenon is also very visible on mountains. In a group of mountains where the natural color of all of them is the same, it is that added or subtracted sunlight that makes one mountain look darker or a lighter brown depending upon the time of the day.
Saturation of a hue increases while adding grey to it and it decreases when the amount of grey is reduced from the hue to obtain its purest form.
This interaction between colors and it’s surrounding make them look different and creates an illusion for us. some of these interactions between the variations of colors based on the surroundings are shown below:
In the following images, some of the color variations are put together in a composition:
